Our Story
About The Last Tangle Salon
Established in 1989, The Last Tangle Salon has been a proud part of the Orangevale community for over three decades. What began as a small neighborhood salon has grown and evolved through three dedicated owners, each leaving their mark while honoring the salon’s strong foundation.
In 2000, new ownership expanded our business, helping it flourish. In 2016, Julie King took the reins, continuing its legacy of excellence and community involvement.

Although The Last Tangle Salon moved to its current space in 2021 to allow for the expansion of the local library, it has always stayed within the Greenback Oaks Plaza shopping center, rooted in the community it serves.
Today, we operate as a 100% rental salon, with semi-private booths, a transition made in 2017–2018 to empower independent stylists to grow their own businesses while collaborating in a supportive, professional environment. We have full-time, part-time, and day rent available.

Under Julie King’s guidance, we have created a meaningful community impact.
Julie has served as Honorary Mayor and as a Board Member of the local Chamber of Commerce, and was recognized as Rotary Business of the Year. Her leadership has helped strengthen connections between small businesses and the greater Orangevale community.
The Last Tangle Salon has proudly been apart of:
-
The Orangevale–Fair Oaks Food Bank (including a permanently engraved brick bearing the salon’s name)
